Job Description: Senior Java Full Stack Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Java Full Stack Developer with 10+ years of experience to design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade applications. You will lead technical design, deliver features end to end, and mentor the team. Working knowledge of AI and generative AI is expected, as you will help integrate AI-powered features into our products alongside core application development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, secure, high-performance applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
• Build modern, responsive front-end interfaces using React or Angular.
• Design RESTful APIs, event-driven systems, and third-party integrations.
• Integrate AI capabilities (LLM APIs, chat assistants, summarization, semantic search) into existing applications, working with data science teams where needed.
• Lead architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and champion automated testing.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers.
• Collaborate with product owners, QA, and DevOps in an Agile environment.
• Follow secure coding and data privacy practices, including when using AI services.

Required Qualifications

Backend

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with Java (8/11/17+), Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Hibernate/JPA.
• Strong experience with microservices and distributed system design.
• Solid grasp of design patterns, SOLID principles, and system design.
• Experience with messaging platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ).

Front End

• Strong skills in React.js or Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience with state management and responsive, component-based UI design.

Data

• Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis).
• Strong query optimization and data modeling skills.

Cloud and DevOps

• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab CI, and Git.

AI Knowledge

• Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts, including LLMs, prompt engineering, embeddings, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Experience consuming AI APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Anthropic Claude, or similar) in applications.
• Awareness of AI limitations, such as hallucinations, cost, latency, and data privacy risks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Spring AI or LangChain4j.
• Exposure to vector databases (pgvector, Pinecone, Elasticsearch).
• Basic Python for scripting and AI tooling.
• Experience using AI coding assistants (Claude, GitHub Copilot) to improve productivity.
• Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Experience in a domain such as banking, healthcare, insurance, or retail.
• Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).

Education
