Lead SAP Basis Administrator

• Location: Onsite, Monday thru Thursday in Phoenix, AZ 85027
• 4-6 month Contract to Hire as a W2 employee of Talent Groups and then conversion to FTE. We/our client is unable to offer sponsorship for this role.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Lead to manage and optimize a complex SAP technical landscape. This role is responsible for ensuring system stability, performance, and security across a wide range of SAP platforms, while leading a team of Basis administrators and supporting key transformation initiatives, including S/4HANA and cloud adoption.

You ll play a critical role in driving system reliability, leading upgrades and migrations, and partnering across teams to deliver scalable, high-performing SAP environments.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Landscape Management

• Design, implement, and maintain SAP environments including ECC, S/4HANA, BW, Solution Manager, GRC, SLT, BTP, SAP CAR, SuccessFactors, and Cloud ALM
• Plan and execute system copies, refreshes, upgrades, and patching activities
• Ensure seamless integration with external systems and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform)

System Performance & Monitoring

• Monitor and optimize performance across SAP systems (database, memory, batch jobs)
• Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and automation to minimize downtime

Security & Compliance

• Manage user administration, roles, and authorizations
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements (e.g., SOX)

Disaster Recovery & Backup

• Develop and maintain disaster recovery strategies and backup plans
• Conduct regular DR testing and validation to ensure business continuity

Project Leadership

• Lead SAP Basis efforts for key initiatives including migrations, upgrades, and new implementations
• Collaborate with functional, development, and infrastructure teams to ensure successful delivery

Team & Vendor Management

• Lead, mentor, and support onsite and offshore Basis teams
• Coordinate with SAP, cloud providers, and infrastructure vendors to resolve issues and improve performance

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 10+ years of hands-on SAP Basis administration experience
• Strong experience with SAP installations, system copies, kernel upgrades, and performance tuning
• Expertise in database administration, particularly SAP HANA and Oracle
• Experience with SAP Enterprise Cloud Services and RISE with SAP
• Deep understanding of SAP HANA architecture, performance optimization, and backup/recovery
• Experience managing SAP environments in cloud platforms
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems
• Experience with high availability, clustering, and load balancing solutions
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and leadership skills
