Description

We are seeking a C CURE 9000 Systems Administrator to support and maintain the enterprise electronic access control and security event management platform for a local university health system.

This role is responsible for C CURE 9000 administration, configuration, troubleshooting, upgrades, access permissions, alarm and event configuration, reporting, and system reliability. The administrator works closely with Public Safety, university IT, facilities personnel, and security vendors to support secure building access, resolve technical issues, implement system changes, and maintain reliable operations across university locations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot the C CURE 9000 platform and its administration and monitoring clients.
  • Manage personnel records, credentials, clearances/access permissions, schedules, and operator privileges in accordance with approved university policies and authorization procedures.
  • Configure and maintain doors, readers, controllers, alarms, events, notifications, and related system objects.
  • Monitor application health and controller connectivity; diagnose and resolve issues affecting building access or security monitoring.
  • Coordinate software upgrades, patches, licensing, controller firmware updates, and lifecycle activities with university IT and authorized security vendors.
  • Work with server, database, and network teams to support application services, SQL Server connectivity, backups, recovery testing, and system performance.
  • Support and troubleshoot existing integrations and data imports/exports; validate personnel and credential data for accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain reports on access activity, alarms, system events, and configuration changes to support authorized operational and audit requests.
  • Investigate incidents, review logs, document root causes and corrective actions, and escalate complex issues to the appropriate technical team or vendor.
  • Plan, test, document, and implement production changes in accordance with change management and security requirements.
  • Coordinate with Public Safety, facilities personnel, IT, and security integrators on new installations, building expansions, and access control changes.
  • Maintain system documentation, configuration records, inventories, operational procedures, and support records.
  • Provide user support, training, and practical guidance to Public Safety operators and other authorized users.
  • Support continuity of mission-critical security operations, including after-hours maintenance and emergency troubleshooting as assigned.
  • Maintain current knowledge of C CURE 9000, associated access control technologies, and relevant security practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.  One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience, or one year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in an information technology or electronic security systems environment, including hands-on administration and support of C CURE 9000.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining C CURE 9000 personnel records, credentials, clearances/access permissions, schedules, operator privileges, alarms, and events.
  • Working knowledge of electronic access control components, including iSTAR controllers, card readers, door hardware interfaces, and input/output devices.
  • Experience supporting Windows-based application servers and working with Microsoft SQL Server environments, in collaboration with infrastructure and database teams.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking and the connectivity required between application servers, workstations, and access control devices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot application, controller communication, credential, and access-related issues and coordinate escalation to IT teams or vendors when needed.
  • Ability to follow change management, information security, and documentation standards while handling sensitive personnel and security information.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams and Public Safety personnel.

Preferred

  • Software House C CURE 9000 training or certification relevant to system administration or management.
  • Experience supporting access control systems in a university, healthcare, or other large, multi-building environment.
  • Experience with C CURE 9000 enterprise deployments and integrations with identity management, video management, visitor management, or other security systems.
  • Familiarity with virtualized server environments, backup and recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery practices.
