PROJECT DESCRIPTION & MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:
This is an Integrations and Data Migration Developer position in a large, complex local government organization. This position is within the Information Technology Department for the purpose of assisting in implementing a complex, large-scale application.
The candidate will work alongside a diverse team of software developers, business analysts and an IT Manager, supporting a software implementation project for the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO). This includes data analysis, data clean up, data migration and integrations development as well as working directly with the customer and software vendor through the project lifecycle. The emphasis of the work is on understanding business processes and requirements to provide the best solution for the customer, through the implementation of a vendor package.
Experience with the following is required:
• 7+ years of experience, and proven track record of delivering complex IT software projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and in collaborative environments.
• Strong attention to detail and quality assurance mindset.
• Experience with Oracle PL/SQL or SQL Server development.
• Strong understanding of Data modeling and database architecture.
• Hands on experience using ETL tools and data integration platforms.
• Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and JSON/XML.
• Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
Work duties may include:
• Design and implement data migration processes.
• Develop and optimize ETL processes for extracting, transforming, and loading data between systems.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout the migration lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and validate data mappings.
• Troubleshoot and resolve migration issues, including performance tuning and error handling.
• Document technical specifications, migration plans, and post-migration validations.
• Develop, test, and maintain integration components using various programming languages and tools.
• Collaborate with software vendor, stakeholders, and business analysts to ensure smooth integration.
• Monitor and troubleshoot integration issues and ensure system uptime.
• Document integration processes, tools, and technologies used.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Seven years of experience in database development or software development are required. Additional related work experience in software development may substitute for the required college education on a year-for-year basis.
