Position: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Huntsville, AL / King of Prussia, PA and Littleton, CO
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer III to design, develop, and validate mechanical and electromechanical systems that support complex engineering applications. This role involves applying engineering principles, analytical methods, and hands-on design expertise to create high-performance mechanical products and systems.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in mechanical design, product development, and system integration, along with advanced proficiency in CAD tools, configuration management, and engineering documentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize mechanical and electromechanical systems, including instruments, machines, engines, and control systems
Apply engineering fundamentals to mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, and heat transfer systems
Perform research, analysis, and simulations to support product planning and design decisions
Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using CAD tools
Apply GD&T standards to ensure dimensional accuracy, manufacturability, and quality
Support prototype development, testing, validation, and design iteration
Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and systems engineering teams
Maintain accurate design documentation and configuration control using enterprise data systems
Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline
5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and development
Strong hands-on experience with:
CREO 10 / DSR6 / EPDM and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Experience developing production-ready designs and supporting engineering change processes
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing complex mechanical or electromechanical systems
Familiarity with product lifecycle management and configuration control processes
Experience supporting testing, validation, and manufacturing transitions
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in cross-functional teams
