Telecom Administrator

We are seeking a Telecom Administrator to support and manage the organization’s enterprise telecommunications and mobile device environment. This role is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of voice systems, mobile technologies, and mobility platforms that enable reliable communication across office, hybrid, and remote workforces.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on experience supporting VoIP/telephony systems and mobile device management platforms with strong troubleshooting skills and a customer-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

Telecommunications Administration

• Administer and support enterprise VoIP and PBX platforms including Cisco, Avaya, Mitel, and Microsoft Teams Phone
• Configure and maintain extensions, voicemail, call queues, IVRs, hunt groups, auto attendants, and call routing
• Manage SIP trunks, DIDs, and number porting activities
• Monitor call quality and troubleshoot voice performance or QoS-related issues
• Partner with network teams to support voice VLAN configuration and traffic prioritization

Mobility & Device Management

• Administer Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) platforms such as Microsoft Intune or Workspace ONE
• Provision and enroll mobile devices including smartphones and tablets
• Deploy and manage mobile applications, email configurations, Wi-Fi, and VPN profiles
• Enforce security controls including encryption, passcodes, conditional access policies, MFA, and remote wipe capabilities

Operational Support

• Provide Tier 1–2 support for telecom and mobility-related incidents and service requests
• Troubleshoot device failures, call routing issues, enrollment problems, and connectivity concerns
• Support onboarding and offboarding processes including device provisioning, extension setup, and access updates
• Maintain accurate telecom and mobile asset inventories including devices, SIM cards, licenses, and phone numbers

Carrier & Vendor Coordination

• Serve as a point of contact for telecom and mobile carriers such as AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile
• Coordinate service provisioning, outage resolution, billing validation, and plan optimization
• Assist with vendor evaluations and recommend improvements that enhance reliability and cost efficiency

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain technical documentation, standards, and troubleshooting procedures
• Support hardware refresh initiatives and maintain approved telecom/mobile hardware catalogs
• Identify opportunities to improve telecom performance, security posture, and operational efficiency

Required Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
• Experience supporting enterprise VoIP or telephony environments
• Hands-on experience administering Mobile Device Management or Unified Endpoint Management platforms (Intune, Workspace ONE, or similar)
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and QoS
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across telecom and mobile platforms
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Microsoft Teams Phone environments
• Telecom carrier management or provisioning experience
• Familiarity with identity and access platforms such as Azure AD or Okta
• Experience supporting hybrid or distributed workforce environments
