Job Title : Senior Cloud Engineering Developer Azure (Java / AKS)

Location: Chicago IL -3 times a week onsite

Responsibilities:

• MS Azure / DEBUGGING ABILITIES / Sr Developer with Architecture mindset (not an Architect role).
• Must be very Senior caliber. HANDS ON / Lead Level experience would be a big plus.
• AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service)
• Full Stack Java Development (mostly back-end)
• Terraform

• Sr. Cloud Engineering Developer will be aligned to serve a Scrum team that is specific to a Domain area to migrate our existing applications and adding new functionalities to our Global Family Office (GFO) SaaS solution.
• This position will independently perform coding for our Cloud Platform team.
• Design and develop high quality, scalable and efficient solutions, and products on schedule.
• Coordinates with testing team to validate user stories and make corrections based on identified bugs.
• Ability to analyze legacy applications and create technical design document for application rationalization.
• Ensure project goals make sense and overall development objectives are being met. MAJOR DUTIES:

• Designing and developing components in Java using Springboot.
• Interacting with SQA teams to facilitate testing and validation of developed components.
• Gathering system requirements and analyzing user needs
• Designing application architecture, flow charts, specification documents and writing technical stories when needed.
• Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Testing software and implementing modernized testing features
• Debugging and troubleshooting programs
• Supporting junior developers and helping troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborating with other developers across the GFO team to create innovative software solutions.
  
  KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

• Bachelor s degree or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of development experience in Agile environment working within a distributed cross-functional team.
• At least 7 years of Java development experience.
• Core Java (Java 17+)
• Spring Boot
• Spring Data JPA & Hibernate
• Spring Security (authentication, authorization, JWT)
• JUnit & Mockito for testing
• Relational databases: Azure SQL, Snowflake, Oracle
• Non-relational databases: Redis, MongoDB
• Messaging: Kafka
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Advanced Azure developer skills (knowledge of resources such as AKS, APIM, App Gateway, Front Door, Key Vaults, etc.)

ReactJS for UI development

• Basic understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Basics of CI/CD pipelines
• Able to organize, moderate, and demonstrate value-added principles and practices to the teams.
• Experience mitigating Sonar, Checkmarx, CAST scans.
• Understand all facets of the software development life cycle including planning, requirements management, development, quality assurance, change management and release management.
• Experience with continuous integration and test-driven development practices, test automation and tools.
• Empowered self-starter comfortable to take the lead and manage multiple initiatives with ability to effectively collaborate across teams and departments.
• Knowledge and experience in tools such Azure DevOps/Dashboards and Confluence a plus.
• Experience in the financial service industry is a plus.
• Azure/AWS Cloud Certified

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• DevOps experience a big plus.
• Hands On LEAD experience is a nice to have as well.
