Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced ESB Test Lead to own quality assurance for enterprise integrations, APIs, middleware services, and event-driven workflows. The role combines hands-on test automation with technical leadership, onsite/offshore delivery coordination, and clear communication across product, project, business, and engineering stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

·       Own the end-to-end test strategy, planning, estimation, execution, and release-readiness activities for ESB and integration platforms.

·       Validate APIs, web services, message flows, data transformations, routing, exception handling, and downstream system integrations.

·       Design, build, and maintain scalable automated tests using Playwright and TypeScript.

·       Lead functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, negative, and production-validation testing.

·       Coordinate onsite and offshore QA teams to deliver sprint commitments across test planning, execution, automation, defect management, and reporting.

·       Manage defects, dependencies, test status, quality metrics, and risks; provide clear release recommendations to stakeholders.

·       Partner with product owners, project managers, architects, developers, business teams, and support teams to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.

·       Drive test automation within CI/CD pipelines and continuously improve coverage, reliability, traceability, and testing efficiency.

Required Qualifications

·       8+ years of software testing experience, including proven experience leading complex integration-testing initiatives.

·       Strong hands-on experience testing ESB, middleware, APIs, microservices, and distributed system integrations.

·       Hands-on expertise with Playwright and TypeScript, including framework design, test maintenance, and debugging.

·       Experience with one or more enterprise integration platforms such as MuleSoft, IBM App Connect/Integration Bus, TIBCO, Boomi, or a comparable ESB platform.

·       Strong knowledge of REST and SOAP services, JSON, XML, message queues, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous processing.

·       Proficiency with API-testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, REST Assured, or comparable tools.

·       Strong SQL skills with experience in backend data validation, log analysis, and root-cause investigation.

·       Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.

·       Strong understanding of Agile delivery, sprint planning, defect management, test metrics, and release processes.

·       Proven ability to lead and coordinate onsite/offshore QA teams in a fast-paced delivery environment.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with product, project, business, and technical stakeholders.

·       Must be available to work onsite in San Francisco two days per week.

Leadership & Communication Expectations

·       Provide concise, audience-appropriate updates on quality, delivery progress, risks, and release readiness.

·       Facilitate alignment across onsite and offshore teams, resolve delivery blockers, and ensure clear ownership of sprint test deliverables.

Demonstrate a collaborative, accountable, and solutions-oriented working style when partnering with business and technology teams
