API Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in need of a API Developer in Boston, MA.

Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Java 8+ and Spring Boot
* Build and enhance microservices that consume and process JSON payloads from multiple external agencies
* Implement business logic driven by agency type, notice type, and payload content
* Develop robust error handling, logging, and retry strategies to ensure system resilience
* Create and maintain unit and integration tests to support application quality and reliability
* Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Spring Boot microservices
* Deploy applications across DEV, QA, UAT, and PROD environments
* Manage environment-specific configurations using externalized properties
* Collaborate using GitLab and CI tools including Git, Jira, and Jenkins
* Monitor application logs in AWS, troubleshoot deployment issues, and provide production support and fixes

REQUIREMENTS:
* AWS Developer or Solutions Architect certification.
* 7+ years of overall experience, including 5+ years in API/backend development and 3+ years of DevOps exposure
* Strong proficiency in Java 8+ with hands-on experience using Spring Boot and microservices
* Experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs
* Solid understanding of JSON, HTTP, and third-party integrations
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and configuration management
* Working knowledge of Linux environments and application troubleshooting
* Experience deploying applications to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
* Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK
* Experience with large-scale enterprise or government systems
* Knowledge of asynchronous processing or messaging systems

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
