Summary

DCS is seeking a strategic, organized, and creative Lead Site Coordinator & Curriculum Developer to oversee the program-wide execution of the Next-Gen Discovery initiative. Located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), this leadership role is responsible for developing the STEM curriculum used across all installations, managing the high-school and college internship programs nationwide, and providing real-time budget forecasting for the entire program.

You will serve as the central hub of the Next-Gen Discovery program, providing guidance and support to other Site Coordinators at Eglin AFB, Hill AFB, and the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). If you are passionate about educational development, program management, and scaling STEM opportunities on a national level, we want you on our team.

Essential Job Functions:

WPAFB Local Site Coordination

Secure camp locations locally, set up camp schedules, and pack/prepare STEM kits.

Recruit, onboard, and prepare local area camp teachers; ensure they have all necessary classroom materials.

Coordinate WPAFB base tours, museum visits, and recruit local military/civilian Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for camp demonstrations.

Attend each day of WPAFB camp to monitor safety, manage student behavior, and support teachers (including stepping in to lead activities if needed).

Recruit and match local high school and college interns with WPAFB mentors; conduct regular "welfare checks" and coordinate base access/CAC processing.

Program-Wide Curriculum Development

Design, develop, and test mission-critical, hands-on STEM curriculum for all Next-Gen Discovery Craftsman camps (ages 11-15) across all installations.

Create and vet Next-Gen Discovery Home lessons for students to complete during the school year.

Collaborate with remote Site Coordinators to identify new camp activities and ensure curriculum is delivered with high quality.

Enterprise Internship Management

Oversee the Junior Apprentice (high school) and Apprentice (college) internship programs across all participating Air Force installations.

Ensure standardized onboarding, security processing, and program compliance across the entire enterprise.

Consolidate and manage student metrics, weekly reports, and program data using centralized database platforms.

Financial Management & Budget Forecasting

Provide real-time budget tracking, cost analysis, and financial forecasting for the Next-Gen Discovery program.

Assist program management in tracking labor, materials, and travel expenditures across all sites.

Required Skills:

Bachelor's degree required (STEM, Education, or Curriculum Design background is highly preferred).

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in educational program management, curriculum development, or a similar leadership role involving budget oversight.

Experience with budget tracking, financial forecasting, and data analysis.

Exceptional leadership and communication skills; ability to coordinate effectively with remote teams, base leadership, and academic partners.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and project management software (e.g., Smartsheet).

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Must be comfortable working with students ages 11 and up.

Work is primarily in an office or classroom setting at WPAFB, with occasional travel to other installations for site visits or coordinator meetings.

Ability to walk moderate distances (during base/site tours) and occasionally lift/move camp material boxes weighing up to 35 lbs.
