Job Description:
Knowledge, Skills, and Capacity:
Must have a thorough understanding of the key stakeholders in healthcare workforce and health system
planning, including state agencies, healthcare providers, higher education, training providers,
professional associations, trade associations, community-based organizations, labor organizations,
insurers, funders, advocates and others across systems of care and populations served.
Must have significant knowledge of the principles and practices of health workforce development,
including policy and planning, program administration, research, data analytics, and stakeholder
engagement.
Must have significant knowledge of the factors that limit access to health services and adversely impact
health outcomes of rural Rhode Islander
Must have a general understanding of public health, including healthcare finance, and healthcare
delivery, and public health objectives.
Must have excellent writing, public speaking, presentation, facilitation, research, and interpersonal
Skills.
Education and Experience
Education: Such as may have been gained through: Possession of a Master’s degree from a college of
recognized standing with specialization in a relevant field of Health Policy, Public Policy, Human
Resources, Education, a licensed health profession, or a closely related field; and
Experience: Such as may have been gained through considerable employment in a professional position
with responsibilities related to workforce development, health policy, public health, public
administration, education, program administration, or other relevant experience.

education and experience
