Title: Senior Systems Engineer — Contract
Location: Houston, TX
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to deliver Tier 2/3 infrastructure, cloud, and end-user support across multiple client environments within a managed services organization. You’ll own complex technical challenges while serving as a trusted point of contact for client stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
• Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy across client environments
• Manage Azure resources and configure Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) host pools, images, and sessions
• Oversee Microsoft Intune — enrollment, compliance policies, app deployment, and device management
• Support Entra ID identity, conditional access, MFA, and hybrid identity solutions
• Assist with Microsoft Sentinel monitoring, alert triage, and remediation
• Perform patching, maintenance, and M365 support (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
• Drive automation and process improvement using PowerShell
• Document environments, procedures, and operational standards
What You Bring
• 5-8+ years supporting Windows infrastructure and Azure cloud environments
• Hands-on experience with Azure, AVD, Intune, and Entra ID
• Solid networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls
• Strong troubleshooting skills and client-facing communication
• MSP experience preferred
• Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, or Microsoft Defender a plus
• PowerShell scripting skills a plus
• Microsoft certifications (AZ-104, AZ-140, MD-102, SC-300) a plus
