Senior Project Manager to work in our
Fairfax, VA office.
ECS is seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Manager to support a portfolio of dynamic initiatives for a Department of Defense (DoD) customer, including AI/ML innovation, Gen AI and Large Language Model (LLM) integration, and strategic cloud efforts. The candidate will manage their project(s) and will report directly to the Senior Program Manager who manages the Motion Imagery portfolio. The ideal candidate has experience successfully completing projects using an Agile Management framework in a complex environment. The candidate will work closely with other Project Managers, Technical Leads, government customers, and engineering teams to help plan, coordinate, and execute a range of evolving special projects. This is a hybrid role, with onsite work expected in Fairfax and Springfield, VA (3+ days/week), with flexibility based on program needs.
The work is performed in a multidisciplinary team setting, supporting several lines of effort delivering revolutionary capabilities to the US Intelligence Community and Operational Forces distributed around the world. The candidate is highly motivated and enthusiastic about implementing new technologies where deadlines are important to national security.
Position Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a diverse team of technical and subject matter experts in the execution of a variety of requirements supporting several projects delivering actual capabilities to the tactical edge.
- Collaborate with project team members and coordinate with functional leads to acquire matrixed support to provide necessary skills to complete project tasks and work packages. Demonstrate the skills and values of a collaborative leader.
- Interface with support functions including contracts, procurement, logistics and HR to execute program and project activities.
- Manage Cost, Schedule, Performance (Deliverables), Scope and Risk for assigned project in the portfolio to deliver customer requirements.
- Prepare and deliver status reports. Provide weekly project updates to the Government Program Manager and ECS management team.
- Responsible for preparing Statements of Work (SOW), conduct project Kickoff meetings, lead Weekly Status meetings and ensure the successful delivery of contract line items (CLINS).
- Work directly with the Government team daily to define requirements, adjust to changing priorities, and adapt to strategic challenges that influence focus of effort.
- Support the management and execution of projects related to AI/ML, GenAI/LLMs, and cloud technologies
- Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, technical exchange meetings (TEMs), and stakeholder discussions
- Capture and communicate meeting notes, action items, and status updates
- Track project progress, risks, dependencies, and metrics using tools such as JIRA or similar systems
- Work with cross-functional teams (engineering, cloud, AI/ML, and stakeholders) to ensure alignment and timely delivery
- Help identify and escalate risks and blockers, and support resolution efforts
- Contribute to project documentation, including status reports, briefings, and technical documentation
- Support customer engagement efforts to understand requirements and evolving priorities
- Assist with cloud onboarding, data platform coordination, and solution adoption efforts
Required Skills - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Active Secret clearance (TS/SCI eligibility preferred)
- 6+ years project management experience. PMP or equivalent certification.
- Experience/proficiency with Information Management tools such as MS Project, JIRA, Gitlab etc.
- Ability to travel occasionally in support of project activities CONUS and OCONUS.
- Demonstrated superior problem solving, communication and presentation skills
- Experience with SDLC, Agile Management, and Project Lifecycle
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially in translating complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Experience working in or supporting DoW customers
Desired Skills - Active TS/SCI clearance
- PMP certification or equivalent program management credential
- Master's Degree in technical discipline or business/project management
- Hands-on experience with cloud services such as AWS GovCloud or Microsoft Azure Government
- Understanding of secure cloud environments, impact levels (IL5/IL6), or classified cloud deployments
- Experience with Gen AI, LLMs, or AI/ML platforms (e.g., Hugging Face, LangChain, AWS Bedrock)
- Experience working with Department of War (DoW) organizations or performers.
- Familiarity with Intelligence Community collection and exploitation techniques.
- Experience with pilot management workflows, proof-of-concept projects, or technology innovation initiatives
