Summary
Title: Sr IT Business Analyst
Location: Houston, TX – Hybrid Locals only (Monday–Thursday in office; no remote work)
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Business Analyst to support digital transformation, enterprise applications, and system integration projects. The candidate will work closely with business teams, developers, architects, QA, operations, and vendors to gather requirements and deliver technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, document, and manage business and technical requirements.
- Create user stories, use cases, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Analyze business processes and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate with business stakeholders, developers, QA, architects, and vendors.
- Support Agile activities, sprint planning, backlog management, and project delivery.
- Analyze system integrations, APIs, interfaces, data flows, and dependencies.
- Support testing, defect resolution, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and releases.
- Maintain project plans, schedules, risks, issues, and status reports.
- Prepare process flows, technical documentation, user guides, and training materials.
- Lead assigned initiatives and coordinate cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of IT Business Analyst experience; candidates with 10+ years and strong project leadership may also be considered.
- Strong experience in requirements gathering, business process analysis, and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience with Agile and hybrid project environments.
- Knowledge of system integration, APIs, interfaces, and data flows.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.
- Basic SQL, spreadsheet, or reporting skills for data validation.
- Strong communication, analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading complex IT projects and coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of cloud applications, GIS/mapping platforms, mobile applications, or operational technology.
- Experience in environmental, waste disposal, or field operations systems.
- Certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, Agile, or Project Management.
Location Requirement
- Must currently live in the Houston metropolitan area or be willing to relocate.
- Must work from the Houston office Monday through Thursday.
- Fully remote work is not allowed.
Ideal Candidate: A Senior IT Business Analyst with strong requirements gathering, system integration, Agile delivery, and project leadership experience who can coordinate business and technical teams and drive projects through implementation.
