Genesis10 is currently seeking a Specialty Software Engineer - Hybrid for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in San Francisco, CA. This is a hands-on development role with a strong coding focus within a highly visible, strategic program focused on building and deploying greenfield Agentic AI solutions. The team is developing AI agents that orchestrate and automate marketing campaign activities. The ideal candidate will be a strong backend Python developer with experience building and supporting microservices-based applications and a familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Agentic AI frameworks.
Responsibilities: - Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Specialty Software Engineering
- Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale, or longer-term Specialty Software Engineering challenges
- Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring a solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel
- Primarily focus on building, enhancing, and supporting AI agents
- Participate in daily team standups and collaborate closely with developers and architects
Requirements: - 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience with Python
- 5+ years of experience with Microservices
- 5+ years of experience with API Development/Integration
- 5+ years of experience with MongoDB
- Experience designing and consuming APIs
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI frameworks, and AI orchestration concepts
- Experience working with vector databases
- Must be able to work a hybrid schedule, approximately 3 days per week onsite
Core Technical Skills: - Python software engineering and backend service development
- REST API development and Microservices architecture
- Distributed systems design, High-availability and fault-tolerant system design
- FastAPI, AsyncIO, and Multiprocessing
- Performance tuning, profiling, Caching strategies, and Database/query optimization
- Event-driven architecture
Generative AI / LLM Skills: - Generative AI application development and Large Language Models
- Agentic AI systems and Multi-agent workflow design
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), including Hybrid and Knowledge graph-enhanced architectures
- Prompt engineering, orchestration, tool calling, and LLM routing
- Model evaluation frameworks, hallucination detection, and human-in-the-loop validation
- Text-to-SQL using LLMs and Schema-aware prompting
- Embeddings and semantic search
AI Platform & Architecture Skills: - Enterprise AI platform architecture and scalable AI workflow design
- AI governance standards, guardrails implementation, and Responsible AI controls
- PII redaction, audit logging, and model usage monitoring
- Latency, cost, and accuracy optimization
- AI/ML feature engineering, recommendation systems, and feedback loops for model improvement
Data Engineering & Database Skills: - Kafka and streaming data pipelines
- Vector database architecture, semantic retrieval, re-ranking, and embedding pipelines
Desired skills: - 2+ years of experience with Agentic AI
Pay range: $70.63 - $78.63 per hour
