Position SummaryPennEngineering is seeking an experienced
Content Strategist with hands-on manufacturing or engineering industry experience to join our Marketing Team. This role requires a strategic, execution-focused content leader who understands how search is evolving-and how to structure content that performs across
traditional search engines, AI-powered discovery tools, and buyer-driven research channels.
The ideal candidate brings
real-world manufacturing knowledge, enabling them to translate complex technical concepts into clear, credible, and discoverable content that supports demand generation, sales enablement, and brand growth.
What You Will DoLead Content Strategy & Planning- Own and execute a comprehensive content strategy aligned with business objectives, full-funnel marketing, and sales enablement goals
- Develop solution-oriented storytelling that connects PennEngineering's manufacturing products and services to real customer challenges
- Build and manage an integrated content roadmap and editorial calendar across web, landing pages, social media, and sales materials
- Partner with product marketing, demand generation, sales, and engineering teams to identify content gaps and prioritize high-impact topics
- Establish messaging frameworks and content standards that ensure brand consistency across channels
Create & Optimize Content for Search & AI Discovery- Develop AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) content that directly addresses high-intent buyer and engineer questions
- Create and guide production of white papers, case studies, technical articles, landing pages, video scripts, and multimedia assets
- Structure content using SEO best practices, schema-aligned formats, and modular approaches that improve visibility and citation in AI tools
- Optimize content to perform across Google Search, AI assistants, and emerging discovery platforms
- Experiment with new AI-powered search and content distribution tools to extend reach and engagement
Hands-On Content Development- Write and edit content in-house, reducing reliance on agencies
- Collaborate on written communications, video scripting, and digital experiences for web and live delivery
- Translate complex engineering and manufacturing concepts into clear, compelling, customer-focused narratives
Requirements Required QualificationsManufacturing or Engineering Industry Experience Is Required- 5-10 years of content strategy experience, with direct experience in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial B2B environments
- Proven ability to create content for technical, operations, or engineering-focused audiences
- Demonstrated success developing content strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and measurable business outcomes
- Strong understanding of how brand, creative, and media intersect across web, social, and earned channels
- Portfolio of demand-generating content tied to performance metrics
- Experience briefing, producing, and optimizing written and multimedia content
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into content improvements
- Expertise in writing and structuring content for both human readers and AI systems
- Comfort using GenAI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) to enhance marketing workflows
- Excellent editorial judgment and the ability to simplify complex technical topics
- Experience working cross-functionally in a global or matrixed organization
Nice to Have- Experience managing freelance writers or agency partners
- Background in journalism, technical writing, or UX writing
- Proficiency in additional languages (German, Spanish, or Mandarin)
