Job Title: Senior Axonius Cybersecurity Engineer - Remote / Telecommute

Job Location:

Job Type: Contract

Pay Range: $45.00hr - $50.00hr

Job Overview:

The organization is seeking an Axonius Engineer to own the administration, customization, and continuous improvement of the Axonius Cybersecurity Asset Management (CAASM) platform. The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of hands-on experience across cybersecurity asset management and security-tool integrations, with deep expertise in Axonius custom queries, dashboards, and adapters, and proven experience integrating tools such as Rapid7/InsightVM and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE). This is an end-to-end ownership role spanning integration engineering, data reconciliation, automation, and stakeholder-facing reporting, requiring both strong technical depth and the ability to translate security and compliance requirements into working Axonius solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Administer and configure the Axonius platform end-to-end, including adapters, connections, correlation rules, and platform-level customizations.
  • Design and build custom Axonius queries to support security, asset management, vulnerability management, compliance, and operational use cases.
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve Axonius dashboards and reports tailored to security and business stakeholder requirements.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot integrations with security and IT tools, including Rapid7/InsightVM, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE), and other adapters as required.
  • Perform asset discovery, correlation, reconciliation, and data-quality validation across multiple security and IT data sources.
  • Identify and remediate gaps in asset visibility, including missing, unmanaged, stale, duplicate, and non-compliant assets.
  • Incorporate manual and custom data sources into Axonius where automated integrations are not available, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop, test, and maintain Axonius automations and Enforcement Center workflows to drive remediation and policy actions.
  • Troubleshoot issues across data ingestion, adapters, queries, dashboards, and integrations, working with vendors and internal teams as needed.
  • Partner with security operations, infrastructure, vulnerability management, and endpoint teams to close asset visibility and security-tool coverage gaps.
  • Evaluate new Axonius features, adapters, and use cases, and recommend enhancements to queries, dashboards, and workflows as requirements evolve.
  • Maintain clear documentation of Axonius configurations, integrations, queries, dashboards, and operational runbooks.
  • Support audits, compliance reporting, and leadership reviews with accurate, up-to-date asset inventory and coverage data from Axonius.
