Summary

We are seeking an expert Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Cloud Engineer to manage high-level cloud environments, middleware, and infrastructure. This role involves mission-critical tasks, including upgrading databases from 19c to 26ai and managing enterprise monitoring via OEM 24ai.

Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid)

Interview Process: Remote or In-Person

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (On-site in Richmond, VA required 100% once restrictions lift)

Top Technical Skills

  • Oracle Database Expert: Heavy experience with 19c and 26ai, including Container (CDB) and Pluggable (PDB) architectures.
  • OCI & Infrastructure: Proven hands-on experience with DBaaS in OCI, Oracle Data Guard, and RMAN backup/recovery.
  • Middleware & Apps: Administration of WebLogic 14, Oracle APEX (18+), and ORDS (22+).
  • Automation & DevOps: Proficiency in Ansible scripting, GitLab, and Linux/Unix shell scripting.
  • Monitoring: Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 24ai and Fleet Management tools for automated patching.
  • Migration: Solid background in migrating databases from Solaris to Linux.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage complex OCI environments (Database, Middleware, and Infrastructure).
  • Execute seamless database upgrades and cross-platform migrations.
  • Automate routine maintenance and deployment tasks using Ansible and Shell.
  • Implement high-availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.
  • Ensure top-tier database security and performance tuning.

Critical Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on Oracle experience.
  • Availability: Must participate in an On-Call rotation and work after-hours/weekends as needed.
  • Support: Provide 24/7 troubleshooting for critical production issues.
  • Desirable: Certifications (OCP, OCIP, OCE) and experience with Docker/Kubernetes or CI/CD tools (Jenkins).
