SAP GTS Consultant / Architect

SAP GTS Consultant Remote - Location: Dallas, TX / Houston, TX - Duration: 6 Months

Ideal candidate profile:

• Need candidates with demonstrable hands-on SAP GTS expertise, GTS 11.0 experience, exposure to GTS E4H, strong defect-resolution capability, SAP S/4HANA or ECC integration knowledge

We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Senior SAP Global Trade Services Consultant to support an SAP GTS 11.0 to SAP GTS, edition for SAP HANA, or GTS E4H, transformation program.

The consultant will serve as the onsite functional point of contact for SAP GTS process validation, functional testing, defect remediation, integration analysis, data-migration support, and customer stakeholder coordination.

The ideal candidate should combine strong SAP GTS functional knowledge with practical experience in testing, troubleshooting, configuration, and end-to-end issue resolution. This is a hands-on delivery role and not solely a coordination or project-management position.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the onsite SAP GTS functional consultant and coordinate with customer business teams, testing teams, technical resources, data-migration teams, and offshore delivery teams.
• Review the existing SAP GTS 11.0 business processes, configurations, custom developments, interfaces, workflows, roles, and system dependencies.
• Support the transition to SAP GTS E4H by validating functional processes, integration points, business scenarios, and expected system behavior.
• Review and rationalize existing functional test cases and map them to business processes, risks, integrations, and expected results.
• Support System Integration Testing, regression testing, retesting, and business acceptance across SAP GTS processes.
• Lead or participate in daily defect-triage sessions and perform functional root-cause analysis.
• Investigate issues related to configuration, master data, transaction data, integration, authorization, workflow, migration, and custom developments.
• Implement or coordinate functional corrections and prepare specifications for issues requiring ABAP, interface, workflow, enhancement, or reporting changes.
• Work closely with SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA teams to validate GTS integration, including document transfer, IDocs, RFCs, middleware, and external interfaces.
• Support GTS data-migration activities, including data validation, mock-load cycles, reconciliation, exception resolution, and cutover readiness.
• Maintain visibility of open defects, aging items, blockers, dependencies, risks, decisions, and required customer actions.
• Provide regular program updates and ensure effective coordination between onsite and offshore teams.
• Support knowledge transfer, documentation, business validation, and controlled handover of resolved and outstanding items.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 8 years of overall SAP experience.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on SAP GTS functional consulting experience.
• Strong working experience with SAP GTS 11.0.
• Good understanding of SAP GTS, edition for SAP HANA, or GTS E4H architecture and functionality.
• Experience in at least one SAP GTS implementation, upgrade, migration, conversion, or major enhancement program.
• Hands-on experience in multiple SAP GTS areas, including:

o Sanctioned Party List screening

o Embargo and export-control processes

o Legal control and license management

o Import and export customs processing

o Customs declarations

o Trade preference management

o Rules of origin and preference determination

o Product and business-partner master data

• Strong experience integrating SAP GTS with SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA.
• Working knowledge of IDocs, RFCs, document-transfer processes, middleware, and interface troubleshooting.
• Proven experience in System Integration Testing, regression testing, defect triage, root-cause analysis, retesting, and defect closure.
• Ability to prepare functional specifications and coordinate effectively with SAP ABAP and technical teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder-management, and workshop-facilitation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with customer stakeholders and distributed onsite, nearshore, and offshore teams.
• Willingness and ability to work onsite or in a hybrid arrangement in the Dallas area

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience upgrading or transitioning from SAP GTS 11.0 to SAP GTS E4H.
• SAP GTS or other relevant SAP certification.
• Experience with SAP Fiori applications, role validation, and authorization testing.
• Experience supporting SAP data migration, mock loads, reconciliation, and production cutover.
• Familiarity with SAP HANA-based analytics and GTS reporting.
• Knowledge of custom-code remediation and tools such as SAP Maintenance Planner, Software Update Manager, and ABAP Test Cockpit.
• Exposure to Tricentis Tosca or another automated regression-testing tool.
• Familiarity with SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Solution Manager, or SAP Focused Run.
• Knowledge of US import/export compliance and customs processes.
