Design Execution Project Manager - 3 roles
Contractor can be in any of these states: Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado, South Dakota, Ohio (on-site 1 day/week required)
The rate is 65-75/hr., DOE, inclusive.
Initial duration is 6+ months, strong likelihood of extension
Travel required approximately 20%
Our client is a global technology hyperscaler is building and scaling campus-scale data center infrastructures.
They need a Design Execution Project Manager to drive the full design lifecycle from early planning through construction-ready documentation, ensuring alignment across internal stakeholders and external design partners.

This role is execution focused. You will build and lead matrixed design teams, maintain control of scope, schedule, and cost, and ensure design outputs are delivered accurately and on time in support of construction. You will be working across owner, architect, and contractor stakeholders and must be comfortable operating in complex, high-stakes environments with multiple moving parts.
What you will be responsible for
Lead planning and kickoff efforts with internal stakeholders and external design partners
Facilitate design reviews and large-scale working sessions across multiple teams
Build and manage cross-functional design teams including internal resources and external providers
Own scope development, including drafting and aligning scopes of work for contracts
Manage contract issuance and administration for design services
Track deliverables, ensuring the right outputs are delivered to the right stakeholders at the right time
Maintain full visibility into cost, schedule, scope, and overall project progress
Provide clear health reporting across all key project metrics
Drive change management across scope and design contracts
Coordinate design activities with procurement and construction teams
Support and facilitate key technical decisions aligned to project goals
Maintain clear, consistent communication across all stakeholders
Ensure engineering documentation is properly issued, formatted, and distributed
Required background
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field
7+ years of experience in design and/or construction project management
Strong understanding of construction principles and design processes
Experience managing and coordinating across multiple teams and stakeholders
Experience developing project plans, specifications, and scopes of work
Experience tracking cost, schedule, and deliverables across complex projects
Experience working within regulatory and compliance frameworks
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Ability to operate both independently and in a team-driven environment
A Professional licensure such as >-- PE, RA, or NCARB <-- is required, could be any of these three (significant experience (15+ years) may substitute)
Preferred
Experience supporting mission-critical infrastructure environments
Relevant experience in large, complex projects such as healthcare facilities, high-rise commercial, laboratories, advanced manufacturing, or high-power infrastructure
Qualifiers
You have managed full design lifecycle projects from concept through construction documents
You have led coordination across owner, architect, and contractor environments
You have direct experience managing scope, schedule, and cost simultaneously
You have authored scopes of work and managed external design partners
You can clearly explain how design outputs translate into construction execution
