Java Full Stack Lead

Location: Mount Laurel, NJ (3-4 days onsite)
Type: 6 months contract

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Java Full Stack Lead to drive end-to-end development of scalable, high-performance applications. This role combines technical leadership, architecture ownership, and hands-on development across backend and frontend systems. You will lead a team of engineers while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver robust solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of full-stack developers, ensuring high-quality engineering outcomes.
  • Architect and develop scalable backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
  • Build responsive, high-performance front-end applications using React or Angular with Redux.
  • Integrate front-end applications with backend services ensuring seamless data flow.
  • Implement and maintain messaging/event-driven systems using Kafka or MQ.
  • Define and enforce engineering standards, perform code reviews, and ensure best practices.
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and stakeholders on technical design and execution.
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines, repositories, and dependency tools (GitHub, Bitbucket, Nexus).
  • Drive Agile methodologies including sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and ensure system reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Continuously improve system architecture, performance, and development processes.


Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in full-stack development
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Java, Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture
    • React or Angular (with Redux)
    • REST APIs & distributed systems
  • Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or IBM MQ
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (GitHub, Bitbucket, Nexus)
  • Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
  • Experience leading teams and making architecture decisions
  • Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
