Position Title: Senior UI Designer
Location: NYC, NY/Hybrid

Expected Duration: 12 Months
Job Type: Hybrid/3 days onsite
Pay Range: $65/hr.- $70/hr.

Job Description
We are seeking a Senior UI Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in visual design, interaction design, accessibility, and design systems and a proven ability to translate user needs and business requirements into scalable, user-centered interfaces.
Responsibilities:
- Apply visual design principles including typography, color theory, spacing, grids, and hierarchy.
- Translate brand guidelines into consistent UI across platforms.
- Design interfaces for web, mobile, and responsive experiences with visual consistency.
- Define interaction patterns, states, transitions, and feedback aligned to user behavior.
- Create motion and micro-interactions to enhance usability.
- Contribute to design systems with reusable components, patterns, and standards.
- Apply Atomic Design to build scalable UI systems and manage tokens and theming with development teams.
- Ensure WCAG-aligned accessible and inclusive designs.
- Create wireframes, mockups, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes.
- Produce detailed specs and assets for development handoff and partner with engineers for accurate implementation.
- Collaborate with UX, product, developers, and stakeholders; participate in reviews and iterations.
- Stay current with design trends, tools, and best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, HCI, Interaction Design, or related field.
- 7+ years in UI, product, or digital design with a portfolio showing UI, interaction, and design systems work.
- Expertise in Figma; Adobe XD or Sketch is a plus.
- Strong understanding of visual design fundamentals, interaction and motion design, and responsive/adaptive design.
- Experience with design systems, component libraries, Atomic Design, and enterprise brand standards.
- Knowledge of WCAG and inclusive design practices.
- Experience collaborating with developers and supporting design-to-development handoff.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in Agile or Scrum environments.
- Familiarity with usability testing and user research methods.
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and front-end concepts.
- Experience with design system tooling such as Figma libraries and tokens.
- Familiarity with accessibility testing tools.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools or designing for AI-driven products.
