Job Description
As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer Lead in the Systems Integration Group (SIG) at Micron Technology in San Jose, you will lead a team of electrical engineers in developing advanced semiconductor manufacturing test equipment. You will be responsible for the electrical design of PCB assemblies and sub-systems that implement SIG products with specific emphasis in SSD test equipment. This position requires leading a team by setting development direction and working with individual team members to accomplish SIG goals.
You will contribute to technology development for SIG electrical design by guiding and assigning resources to identify, evaluate, and co-develop solutions with partners & suppliers. In this role, you will provide technical guidance to management and help to drive continuous improvement in SIG processes and procedures. You will also work closely with other team members located around the world that include other engineering disciplines, technicians, procurement, planning, and external contract manufacturers.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$159,000.00 - $324,000.00
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of electrical engineers designing & supporting semiconductor manufacturing test equipment and interface/load boards.
- Assess workload and assign resources required to develop electrical designs.
- Performing periodic team member work reviews.
- Work with a cross functional team to plan for and execute project deliverables.
- Derive PCB design specifications from system requirements.
- Design analog circuits including system and POL power supplies.
- FPGA design using HDL (hardware description language).
- Component selection and schematic entry.
- Work closely with PCB designers to develop PCB layouts.
- Debug and verify PCB assemblies.
- Support prototype qualification by the customer including deployment, design changes, and issue resolution
- Author requirements specifications, design documentation, test plans, and lab reports.
- Assesses future technology requirements to identify strategic opportunities for Micron.
- Document designs and manages changes using version control processes.
- Support released designs for issues or additional design and development requests.
Skills and Experience
- BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering developing hardware/PCB designs.
- Prior people with leadership experience
- OR... Proven ability to lead the technical and organizational goals & deliverables of a small to medium engineering team.
- Experience with Siemens Xpedition or other comparable EDA tools.
- Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, TDR, DMM, power supplies, etc.
- Working knowledge of Analog Device LTspice, Cadence PSpice, or other electronic circuit simulation tools.
- Familiarity with PCB layout including power integrity (PI) and signal integrity (SI).
Preferred Additional Skills
- Experience with FPGA/ASIC design HDL (Verilog/VHDL and System Verilog)
- Familiarity with AMD/Xilinx Vivado, Intel/Altera Quartus, or other comparable FPGA/ASIC development EDA tools.
- Understanding of common communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART/serial, JTAG, and PCIe.
- Familiarity with embedded systems and microprocessor/microcontroller integration.
- Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for automation of testing and analysis.
