This role partners with government leadership, military stakeholders, engineering teams, and technology vendors to define solution strategies, develop architectural roadmaps, evaluate emerging technologies, and guide the implementation of complex simulation ecosystems. The successful candidate will balance mission requirements, technical feasibility, cybersecurity, interoperability, lifecycle cost, and operational realism while ensuring solutions align with Joint doctrine and evolving Department of Defense modernization initiatives.
  • Lead the architecture and modernization of enterprise Modeling & Simulation, LVC, and wargaming environments supporting Joint and coalition operations.
  • Develop current-state and future-state solution architectures that align operational objectives with scalable technical capabilities.
  • Translate military operational requirements, Joint doctrine, concepts of operation (CONOPS), and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) into integrated technical architectures and implementation strategies.
  • Design enterprise-level system architectures integrating simulation platforms, virtualization, networking, storage, cloud technologies, AI/ML capabilities, and data services.
  • Lead architecture assessments, technology evaluations, trade studies, and gap analyses to identify modernization opportunities and architectural improvements.
  • Develop reference architectures, interface specifications, integration strategies, and technical standards supporting interoperability across complex simulation ecosystems.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, software engineering, networking, and operational stakeholders to ensure solutions satisfy mission, security, and performance requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership during architecture reviews, design reviews, technology demonstrations, proof-of-concept activities, and customer engagements.
  • Advise government leadership on technical strategy, technology investment decisions, modernization planning, and architectural risk.
  • Evaluate commercial, government, and emerging technologies for applicability within military simulation and training environments.
  • Support acquisition planning by developing technical requirements, architectural documentation, and modernization roadmaps.
  • Ensure architectures support scalability, resiliency, maintainability, cybersecurity, and operational readiness.
  • Mentor engineering teams and establish architectural best practices across the organization.
