Senior Mainframe Modernization Engineer - Watsonx

Position:Senior Mainframe Modernization Engineer

Contract: 6 months

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in mainframe technologies, including:
• COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, REXX, VSAM
• Experience with batch schedulers (e.g., CA-7, Control-M, etc.)
• Familiarity with RACF security and access control mechanisms
• Proficiency with standard mainframe utilities (SORT, IDCAMS, IEBGENER, etc.)
• Strong working knowledge of IBM ADDI (Watsonx) automated discovery and analysis tools.
• Experience conducting application assessments, code analysis, and business logic extraction.
• Familiarity with AI/ML-driven approaches to legacy system analysis and modernization planning.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a client-facing consulting environment.
• Strong documentation and communication skills to support assessment deliverables.
• Experience in the Financial Services domain is a plus.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor during early stages of engagement, helping shape strategy and execution plans.
