Position:Senior Mainframe Modernization Engineer

Remote

Contract: 6 months

Qualifications

10+ years of hands-on experience in mainframe technologies, including:
COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, REXX, VSAM
Experience with batch schedulers (e.g., CA-7, Control-M, etc.)
Familiarity with RACF security and access control mechanisms
Proficiency with standard mainframe utilities (SORT, IDCAMS, IEBGENER, etc.)
Strong working knowledge of IBM ADDI (Watsonx) automated discovery and analysis tools.
Experience conducting application assessments, code analysis, and business logic extraction.
Familiarity with AI/ML-driven approaches to legacy system analysis and modernization planning.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a client-facing consulting environment.
Strong documentation and communication skills to support assessment deliverables.
Experience in the Financial Services domain is a plus.
Act as a trusted technical advisor during early stages of engagement, helping shape strategy and execution plans.
