The Sr. Security Engineer for Cyber Fusion Operations plays a central role in unifying the people, tools, and intelligence that power the organization's security operations program. This role requires someone who can operate across the full technical spectrum, from foundational security operations to architectural design, while engaging cross-functionally across security, IT, engineering, and business stakeholders to drive alignment, prioritization, and execution toward program maturity.

This is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office at least three days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from North Austin, TX.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead Cyber Fusion engineering efforts by identifying and driving process improvements, partnering across teams to mature capabilities, and delivering scalable automation and integrated workflows.
  • Ensure detection engineering standards, use case governance, and MITRE ATT&CK coverage requirements are defined and met across internal and partner-delivered capabilities.
  • Drive SIEM migration efforts including data source onboarding, pipeline validation, detection rule translation, and log ingestion pipeline maintenance.
  • Engineer and tune detection logic, correlation rules, and automated response workflows while identifying opportunities to improve processes and drive automation across Fusion Center operations.
  • Oversee and govern partner-delivered functions including threat intelligence integration, Purple Team engagements, and incident response execution to ensure alignment with internal standards and priorities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal partner teams to align security engineering initiatives with broader organizational priorities and drive strategic programs.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in security engineering, detection engineering, or security operations with a track record of growth into senior or lead roles.
  • Experience working within a security operations environment and understanding how to sequence change without disrupting operations.
  • Deep technical experience across the full security operations stack, from foundational SOC capabilities through architectural design, with the ability to assess current state, identify gaps and automation opportunities, improve workflows, and drive execution toward measurable maturity outcomes.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
