Job Title: Telecommunications Manager (Local in Texas)
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid, 2 Days onsite and 3 Days remote)
Duration: 12+ months contract
Job Description:
· Provide leadership and oversight of Network Services operations, including WAN, LAN, wireless, SD-WAN, and network security platforms
· Oversee daily operational activities, including incident management, problem resolution, and service availability
· Serve as escalation point for high-priority network and infrastructure issues
· Coordinate and prioritize workload across Network Services teams, including infrastructure and security-focused functions
Support ongoing and planned initiatives, including:
· SD-WAN implementation and optimization
· Network monitoring and observability tools (e.g., ThousandEyes, AppDynamics)
Ssecurity integrations (e.g., Secure Workload, NGFW, identity services)
Provide vendor coordination and oversight for network-related services and contracts
· Ensure compliance with Agency security standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
· Participate in change management processes and ensure proper documentation and approvals
Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering, Data Center, Telecom, and Security teams to support cross-functional initiatives
· Provide status reporting, risk identification, and mitigation planning to leadership
· Maintain documentation of network architecture, processes, and operational procedures
· Support knowledge transfer and continuity planning for the return of the permanent Network Services Manager
Minimum Requirements:
· Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience performing supervisory/management work including providing clear direction to subordinates; promoting teamwork and motivating others to accomplish goals.
· Minimum of seven (7) years’ of experience with administration, maintenance, and design of Cisco VoIP solutions is required.
· Minimum of five (5) years’ experience managing a networking team in a highly complex environment.
· Experienced with implementation and support of 24x7x365 network, voice, and video environment.
