Additional Skills & Qualifications
The teams will be comprised of 4-5 engineers. Half of the 182 (CONUS and OCONUS) bases are currently funded. They are on base 2 now. Travel will be consistent. Install will take 2-3 weeks onsite depending on how prepared the base is. The plan is to have them go from base to base. If there is downtime they will be at home and will be kept busy with paperwork/documentation.
When they get onsite, they will work with the POC onsite to get into the warehouse and schedule equipment to go to facilities on base. There are 4 facilities per location, priority is to hit SIPR first since escorts can tend to fade. They will then follow the design layout, make modifications, close out, do asset management, etc. They are installing Dell servers, power strips, wire management, labeling, grounding. If needed, will get someone additional to test. Recognize faults and potential failures.
NGG modernizes existing DAF infrastructure to provide Zero Trust Capabilities. The NGG implementation must be capable of sustaining a throughput of 40Gb/s (threshold)/ 100Gb/s (objective) at the CEDCs and 10Gb/s (threshold)/ 40Gb/s (objective) at the base boundary (Main Operating Bases).
NGG Phase 1 is currently being deployed to 13 CEDCs. NGG Phase 2 will extend the rollout of a Zero Trust solution to all 187+ Main Operating Bases (MOBs), which include the 13+ CEDCs from Phase 1 and the 174+ base boundaries (Main Operating Bases). NGG Phase 2 will determine architecture, design, functionality, products, and integration services to deploy a suitable solution to a flexible infrastructure on both NIPRNet and SIPRNet sites. These solutions must be able to support integration with approved Cloud Service Providers. This includes integration with SaaS and Cloud ONE (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and OCI) for UNCLASS (IL2 - IL5), and SECRET (IL6) through DoD approved connections.
