Superintendent - Data Center Construction Leadership

This opportunity is for experienced leaders who want to step into a critical role supporting the build-out of major data center projects at a fast-paced Montgomery site. The team has a significant workload underway, but lacks strong field leadership - and that's where you come in.
We're looking for people who take ownership, drive progress, and elevate the teams around them. This role requires individuals who can coach, develop, and empower crews while maintaining a strong focus on culture, morale, and accountability.
You'll oversee structured team groupings of roughly 20 people, with a breakdown like this:
  • Superintendent (may have up to 4 Leads)
  • Lead (may have up to 4 Crew Leads)
  • Crew Lead (may manage 5 Technicians)
  • 5 Technicians

Role Overview

The Superintendent will train, manage, and supervise all project-related staff while effectively handling all human-resource responsibilities according to company policies. This role provides mentorship and direction to help achieve all customer and company goals.

Required Experience

  • Prefer a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years as a Lead Communications Technician or similar role.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in telecommunications or a related technical or construction field.
  • Proficiency with computers and skill with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project).
  • Ability to meet company driving standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to define a project, develop scope, estimate, detail tasks, and manage through completion and turnover.
  • Ability to use trade tools such as:
    • Punch tool with 110 and 66 block blades
    • 6/8 position combo crimp tool
    • Krone/3M/BIX
    • Butt set
    • Volt-ohmmeter
    • 4-pair continuity tester
    • 5-gang punch tool

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Serve as the senior on-site liaison interfacing with customer representatives.
  • Plan, manage, and monitor project profitability to achieve company goals.
  • Ensure all project deadlines are met per customer requirements.
  • Manage workload distribution, staffing, and overall job progress.
  • Oversee job completion, productivity, and compliance with project budgets.
  • Review job cost postings, invoices, collections, and financial reporting.
  • Complete all required company and project paperwork accurately and on time, including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers, and job-closing documentation.
  • Conduct quality checks, prevent outages, perform daily job walks, and prepare red-lined as-built drawings.
  • Act as main on-site contact for customer questions or concerns; attend facility and construction meetings.
  • Apply strong technical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Review and improve operational processes, including estimating, purchasing, invoicing, warehousing, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Partner with the Training Department to monitor and promote safety as the highest priority.
  • Lead assigned operations meetings and training sessions.
  • Manage tools, truck inventory, and maintenance.
  • Complete any additional assigned responsibilities.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
