We are seeking a Senior Database Management Specialist with strong expertise in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and AWS to support complex enterprise database environments. This role will focus on database architecture, cloud operations, performance tuning, migrations, ETL processes, and high-availability support within a large-scale production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise databases, data lakes, and data warehouses
  • Administer PostgreSQL and MongoDB (performance tuning, patching, backups, DR, replication)
  • Lead database migrations across data centers and AWS cloud environments
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL/NoSQL queries and ETL processes
  • Monitor production environments (CPU, memory, storage, batch jobs)
  • Implement security hardening and data governance best practices
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams supporting CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bamboo, Git, etc
  • Perform hands-on maintenance activities (VACUUM, ANALYZE, full vacuum, storage management).

Required Experience

  • 8+ years in enterprise database design and administration
  • 4+ years hands-on PostgreSQL & MongoDB experience
  • 4+ years supporting AWS (EC2, AMIs, CI/CD)
  • Strong expertise in database architecture, indexing, partitioning, replication, and performance tuning
  • Experience with large-volume database migrations
  • Background in ETL and data warehousing

Preferred

  • Experience supporting Health Insurance Marketplace (HIX), ACA, or Health & Human Services systems
  • Knowledge of EDI transactions (834, 820, 270/271)
  • Experience with data governance and healthcare data environments

Must be flexible to support production environments, including occasional off-hours support.
