Job Description: Product Owner - Data ServicesRole Mission The Product Owner (PO) is the primary architect and guardian of revenue integrity and operational velocity for the Data Service Licensing and Billing Platform . Operating within a high-performance Product Operating Model , the PO is charged with the radical transformation of manual, legacy licensing frameworks into seamless, platform-driven workflows. The "Extreme" PO balances an aggressive 12-month strategic roadmap with a "zero-manual-touch" mandate for production support, ensuring every platform evolution directly advances the firm's OKRs and Success Factors. Product Owner Cadence & Responsibilities1. Strategic Innovation (50% Capacity)- Automated Workflow Architecture: Collaborate with key stakeholders to design end-to-end logic and process flows for automated solutions that eliminate human intervention and solve critical internal/external customer friction points.
- Direct-to-Customer Onboarding: Pioneer self-service and "click-through" agreement workflows to expedite onboarding, reduce legal bottlenecks, and provide a transparent, world-class Customer Experience (CX).
- Roadmap Orchestration: Define and execute a rolling 12-month roadmap that prioritizes the systemic migration from discrete legacy packages to modernized, automated onboarding and licensing models.
- Enhanced Payment Ecosystem: Integrate advanced payment options into the onboarding flow to diversify revenue collection and improve financial agility.
2. Run the Business / Production Support & Optimization (35% Capacity)- Rapid Product Launch: Efficiently evaluate newly proposed data products and commercial models; leading the implementation, testing, and verification of supporting platform enhancements.
- Systemic Exception Engineering: Conduct root-cause analysis on one-off and recurring licensing issues or billing discrepancies-such as "unauthorized access"-to engineer permanent platform fixes rather than manual patches.
- Extreme Transparency: Maintain a high-visibility, real-time Jira queue for all production tasks, providing stakeholders with immediate, data-driven insights into system status and inventory health.
- Revenue Recovery Logic: Design and manage complex retroactive billing cycles to ensure all fee-liable data access is systematically captured, reconciled, and invoiced.
3. Platform Hygiene & Technical Debt (15% Capacity)- Integrity & Audit Readiness: Overhaul testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategies to ensure 100% data completeness and integrity for Business Intelligence (BI) and auditing purposes.
- Platform Synchronization: Ensure the licensing platform remains perfectly synchronized with vendor-reported usage through advanced parsing and automated mapping logic.
Required Skills & Experience- High-Velocity Analysis: Expert-level ability to deep-dive into complex usage reports to identify unique subscriber attributes and map them to multi-layered client profiles.
- Jira & Agile Mastery: Extensive experience in managing high-velocity backlogs and creating automated executive dashboards to visualize squad performance and platform health.
- Commercial Logic Design: Deep understanding of complex pricing structures, including tiered discounts and capped fee models, and the ability to translate them into platform code.
- Extreme Ownership: A proven track record of defending licensing policies through proactive communication and the management of "implicit acceptance" frameworks.
Key Success Factors- Elimination of Manual Touch: Measured by the continuous decrease in manual "maintenance orders" and manual mapping overrides.
- Revenue Protection: Systematic identification of "unauthorized" data use with an hourly conversion rate to "authorized" status once compliance thresholds are met.
- Single Source of Truth: Establishing the platform as the definitive, trusted data source for Sales, Legal, and Finance teams.

The pay ranges for this role based on location are: Chicago: $114,200-$190,300 New York/New Jersey: $125,600-$209,300.
