Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Spring Boot Developer to join our team in New York City. This role requires strong backend development experience, working in a microservices environment, and integrating with frontend applications built using AngularJS. The client has a very stringent technical evaluation process, so candidates must be technically strong with hands-on coding experience.

This is a hybrid role requiring onsite work 3 days per week in NYC, and only local candidates from NY/NJ will be considered.

Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot
Build and support microservices-based architecture
Design and develop RESTful APIs and backend integrations
Collaborate with frontend developers working with AngularJS
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning
Write clean, scalable, and high-performance code
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
Follow best practices for security, performance, and maintainability
Work in an Agile / Scrum development environment

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience with Java (8+)
Strong experience with Spring Boot
Experience with Microservices architecture
Experience building REST APIs
Experience with AngularJS integration
Strong knowledge of SQL / relational databases
Experience with Git / version control
Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Excellent communication skills

Preferred Skills

Experience working with large enterprise clients
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure)
Experience with Docker / Kubernetes
Experience with Kafka or messaging systems

Additional Notes

Client technical screening is very strict — candidates must be very strong technically
Minimum 2 interviews, sometimes 3 rounds
Final round will be Face-to-Face in NYC
Only NY / NJ local candidates will be considered
Hybrid work – 3 days onsite per week required
