Summary

One of our clients is urgently looking for a PowerEdge Server Administrator.

 

 

Project Scope:

The PowerEdge Server Administrator is responsible for the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Dell PowerEdge servers within enterprise data center and hybrid infrastructure environments. The role ensures high availability, performance, security, and scalability of server platforms supporting critical business applications.

 

Experience with Dell PowerEdge R470 servers and PowerVault ME5212 storage is a significant advantage.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Server Administration & Operations

  • Install, configure, and maintain Dell PowerEdge rack, tower, and blade servers.
  • Perform firmware, BIOS, iDRAC, and lifecycle controller updates in line with best practices.
  • Monitor server health, performance, and capacity using Dell OpenManage and related tools.
  • Troubleshoot hardware failures, coordinate part replacements, and manage vendor escalations.

 

Virtualization & OS Management

  • Deploy and support virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, or equivalent) on PowerEdge servers.
  • Install, configure, and patch Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
  • Optimize server resources for virtual workloads and high-availability configurations.

 

Storage & Networking Integration

  • Integrate PowerEdge servers with SAN, NAS, and DAS storage solutions.
  • Configure RAID, disk groups, and storage controllers (PERC).
  • Collaborate with network teams to ensure proper VLAN, NIC teaming, and redundancy configurations.

 

Security, Backup & Compliance

  • Apply security hardening standards and access controls at hardware and OS levels.
  • Support backup and disaster recovery solutions for PowerEdge-based workloads.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and industry standards.
