Overview \n
\n
\nSpecialty Infrastructure engineering includes updating hardware required for maintenance of cloud, network, and telecommunication and any connectivity issues that could crop up, detecting system and application issues, and ensuring the smooth flow of data and voice throughout the organization.\n
\n
\nIT Specialty infrastructure engineers manage the security of computer systems, networks, telecommunication, and inter-application information transfers. They ensure optimum uptime for the complete network, telecom, cloud services, cloud storage, and cloud servers. The engineer also improves, plans capacity, and designs infrastructure engineering projects.\n
\n
\nAn Experienced Professional applies practical knowledge of job areas typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. \n
\n
\n Responsibilities typically include: \n

\n Works independently with general supervision. \n
\n
\n Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex. \n
\n
\n May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices. \n

• 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree(Required)
\n

\n or \n
\n

• 7+ years of relevant experience without a Bachelor's degree(Required)
\n

Certification/Licensure \n

\n

• CCNP Certification (Preferred)
\n

\n
\n
\n

\n We are looking for candidates with solid Cisco Catalyst route/switch experience. Knowledge of BGP routing would be a plus. Other pluses would be: \n
\n

\n
• Cisco/Fortinet Firewall experience
\n
• Cisco Wireless and Juniper Mist Wireless experience
\n
• Juniper Routing and switching configuration experience
\n

\n
\n
Physical Requirements \n
\n
\n
\n

\n
• Requires the ability to go on-site to Sentara sites to perform troubleshooting, installation, repair, and replacement of physical networking equipment.
\n
• Valid driver's license required - Ability to operate a motor vehicle and drive distances of greater than 100 miles/3 - 4 hours as required
\n
• Must be able to work in active construction sites with appropriate PPE
\n
• Must be able to perform basic physical tasks such as lifting 25 - 50lbs, occasional ladder use, reading, nimbleness of hands for typing and writing
