Summary
Job: Data Center Engineer
Location: Austin, TX
Onsite | Contract
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Engineer to support large-scale infrastructure operations in a mission-critical data center environment.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy, install, and decommission servers and network equipment
- Perform rack and stack activities
- Troubleshoot hardware and infrastructure issues
- Maintain asset inventory and documentation
- Develop and update SOPs, MOPs, and operational procedures
- Support data center power and cooling infrastructure
- Perform break/fix remediation
- Manage tickets and change requests
- Create scripting and automation solutions using Python or Bash
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years supporting enterprise data centers
- Strong server hardware experience
- Break/fix and troubleshooting expertise
- Linux and Windows fundamentals
- Power distribution and cooling infrastructure knowledge
- Asset management experience
- Python or Bash scripting experience
- Excellent documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with APIs and Jira automation
- Bare-metal server management
- Enterprise server architecture experience
