Remote RAG AI Engineer - Remote

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in need of a Remote RAG AI Engineer.

Responsibilities:
* Build and integrate AI solutions, including MCPs, to connect agents with tools and systems
* Source, prepare, and manage data for machine learning and AI applications
* Design, test, deploy, and optimize ML models to meet business and performance goals
* Integrate AI models into applications using APIs and cloud platforms
* Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve AI systems for reliability and scalability
* Apply ethical AI principles, ensuring fairness, privacy, and transparency
* Collaborate across technical and business teams to align AI solutions with objectives
* Document architectures, share best practices, and mentor team members
* Support stakeholders with AI expertise, reporting, and participation in design and review sessions

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Engineering, or related field
* 3+ years of relevant experience in AI/ML development
* Strong understanding of RAG architectures, including semantic chunking, filtering, and evaluation strategies
* Experience evaluating and iteratively improving RAG model performance over time
* Advanced proficiency in Python; working knowledge of Java, R, or Scala
* Hands-on experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or similar)
* Solid foundation in algorithms, data structures, and core AI concepts (NLP, neural networks, computer vision)
* Experience with cloud AI services (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform)
* Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills in fast-paced environments
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership capabilities; Adaptable self-starter

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
