Day to Day Job Duties:

• Design, develop, and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs using Apigee (X / Hybrid / Edge) on Google Cloud Platform and MuleSoft.
• Build and establish the API Gateway foundation, including reusable proxies, shared flows, and governance standards.
• Collaborate with application, cloud, and DevOps teams to support API-led integration and Google Cloud Platform migration initiatives.
• Implement and manage API security policies such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, API keys, and threat protection.
• Configure and manage traffic management policies including rate limiting, quotas, caching, and spike arrest.
• Support CI/CD pipelines for Apigee deployments and automate API lifecycle management.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize APIs using Apigee analytics and logging tools.
• Partner with architects and stakeholders to define API best practices, standards, and roadmap.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers as the team expands.

Basic Qualifications:

• 8+ years of overall IT experience in API management, application integration, or middleware platforms.
• 5+ years of strong, hands-on experience with Apigee (Apigee X, Hybrid, or Edge), including API proxy development, shared flows, API products, and governance standards.
• 5+ years of experience designing and developing RESTful APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience implementing API security using OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, API keys, and threat protection policies across API platforms.
• 4+ years of experience with traffic management and performance optimization, including rate limiting, quotas, caching, and spike arrest (primarily using Apigee).
• 3+ years of experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments for API and integration platforms.
• 3+ years of working experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including Mule 4, API-led connectivity, and integration patterns.
• 3+ years of experience working in hybrid integration environments, leveraging Apigee as the API gateway and MuleSoft for backend integrations.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with JavaScript and/or Java for API and integration development; exposure to DataWeave is a plus.
• 3+ years of experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing APIs using platform analytics, logging, and observability tools.
• 3+ years of experience collaborating with architects, cloud, DevOps, and application teams on API-led integration initiatives.

Degree:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Apigee X migrations or modernization projects.
• Google Cloud Platform or Apigee certifications.
• Prior experience defining enterprise API governance standards.
• Technical or project lead experience.

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting hourly range for this remote role is $70 to $80. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on several factors, including the candidate's actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.
