Role: AI Engineering Lead

Location: Fully Remote considered or Weston, FL – Hybrid (Tuesday & Wednesday in office) preferred.

Contract: 6 Months – Possible Extension/Conversion

Hours: 40 hrs/week | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–4:00 PM EST (8:00 AM–5:00 PM flexible)

Position Overview

We are seeking an AI Engineering Lead to serve as the senior technical lead for AI transformation across finance and accounting technology. This role will own the AI engineering roadmap, define solution architecture, and lead the development of enterprise AI and agentic solutions.

The role also includes mentoring and developing a team of three early-career AI engineers, helping them progress toward independent solution ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead execution of the AI engineering roadmap across AI-assisted engineering, embedded AI solutions, and agentic AI systems.
• Define architecture standards for Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Azure AI Foundry, and Azure OpenAI Service.
• Design and deploy AI/ML and multi-agent solutions using Azure technologies.
• Mentor junior engineers through pairing, design reviews, and technical guidance.
• Represent the AI engineering team in the AI Center of Excellence and governance discussions.
• Partner with product, security, compliance, and engineering teams on enterprise AI initiatives.
• Lead technical design reviews, architecture decisions, POCs, and AI engineering standards.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and Microsoft AI platform releases and provide recommendations.
• Provide technical direction to vendor/offshore AI development teams.
• Establish best practices around AI-assisted development, human-in-the-loop workflows, and enterprise AI controls.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in AI/ML engineering or enterprise AI solution delivery.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio and Power Platform including Power Automate and Power Apps.
• Experience with Azure AI Foundry and/or Azure OpenAI Service.
• Strong understanding of agentic AI, including multi-agent orchestration, tool use, memory, and planning.
• Strong Python development experience for AI/ML and automation.
• Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise/ERP systems using REST APIs and OData.
• Proven experience mentoring and developing junior engineers.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and executive/business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or similar ERP platforms.
• Knowledge of Semantic Kernel, Microsoft Agent Framework (MAF), or LangChain.
• Microsoft Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI-102) or Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
• Experience working with an AI Center of Excellence or enterprise AI governance team.
• Experience in finance, accounting, or supply chain technology.
• Experience managing vendor or offshore engineering teams.
