Job Title: Senior Product Designer (Consumer Mobile)
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)
Our client is an established consumer subscription platform and digital media brand engaging over one million active monthly members. Operating at the intersection of e-commerce, digital media, and mobile technology, the company builds high-impact web and native mobile products (iOS and Android) tailored for a passionate, highly engaged subscriber base. Located near Madison Square Park in New York City, the company combines strong commercial momentum with an energetic, collaborative culture.
They are seeking a Senior Product Designer to take end-to-end ownership of their core digital product ecosystem, with a direct focus on scaling their native consumer mobile apps (iOS and Android). Operating as a senior player-coach, you will lead the full lifecycle of consumer-facing features-from user research and wireframing to rapid prototyping, design system evolution, and engineering handoff. This role is built for an autonomous designer who excels at shipping polished mobile experiences, presenting to executive stakeholders, mentoring emerging designers, and leveraging modern AI workflows (such as Claude and Figma MCP) to optimize the product pipeline.
Requirements - 5+ years of dedicated product design experience with a proven track record of shipping consumer-facing mobile applications (iOS and Android) at scale.
- Deep expertise in consumer mobile UX/UI patterns, user flows, visual design, and interactive mobile prototyping.
- Advanced mastery of Figma, design systems, style guides, and detailed engineering handoff processes.
- Demonstrated experience conducting user research, usability testing, and competitive analysis to inform mobile feature development.
- Hands-on familiarity or strong interest in leveraging AI tools (e.g., Claude, Figma plugins) to accelerate design-to-production workflows.
- Strong communication skills with experience presenting and defending design decisions to cross-functional leaders and executive stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or reviewing the work of junior and mid-level designers.
Responsibilities - Lead the end-to-end UX/UI design and execution of intuitive, high-engagement consumer mobile app features (iOS & Android) and responsive web experiences.
- Transform ambiguous conceptual ideas and member feedback into user-centered wireframes, journey maps, and high-fidelity prototypes.
- Scale and maintain the multi-platform design system, component libraries, and documentation to ensure visual and functional consistency.
- Conduct user testing, research sessions, and data-informed design iterations across rapid release cycles.
- Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, and Marketing teams to prioritize feature roadmaps and ensure pixel-perfect deployment.
- Manage the developer handoff process by creating thorough component specs, annotations, and AI-assisted workflow assets.
- Integrate cutting-edge AI tools to optimize internal design pipelines and elevate overall team efficiency.
This position offers a competitive base salary of $140,000-$200,000 alongside comprehensive benefits, professional growth opportunities, and unique perks including quarterly game nights, team events, and unlimited free books. The work arrangement is an interactive hybrid model (Mondays remote, Tuesdays through Fridays onsite) based out of their office near Madison Square Park in Manhattan.
