Our midsize, boutique CPA firm in Lutherville-Timonium, Maryland is seeking a Tax Manager to join our team in a hybrid capacity. In this role, you will manage a broad range of tax compliance and planning engagements while working closely with a diverse portfolio of clients. This position offers a balance of independent remote work and collaborative in-office days.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and prepare complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates.
- Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to a diverse mix of clients, building long-term professional relationships.
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of staff accountants and tax seniors, assisting in their professional development.
- Conduct advanced tax research on complex technical issues and stay updated on changing federal and state tax laws.
- Represent clients before the IRS and state taxing authorities regarding audits and notices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax.
- Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent designation required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience managing multiple client engagements and meeting deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and comfort communicating directly with clients.
