Position: Mechanical Design Engineer with Creo
Location: San Jose, CA - Onsite
Rate: $50/HR on W2
Duration: Long Term Contract
Sheet Metal Design, Creo, NX, GD&T, Tolerance Analysis, Electronic Enclosures, Die-Cast, EMI, Electro-Mechanical Packaging.
Job Summary:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 7+ years of experience designing electronic enclosures.
- Design and deliver next-generation networking systems (modular and fixed chassis) and cards that meet customer requirements.
- Develop innovative mechanical solutions using sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast materials that comply with EMI, safety, and other standards.
- Create 3D CAD models using Creo or NX and detailed drawings applying GD&T principles.
- Perform 2D tolerance analysis for complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers to resolve design issues impacting field or production.
- Exchange PCB design IDF files with ECAD/hardware teams and address mechanical integrity concerns.
- Host peer and cross-functional design reviews.
- Proficiency in 3D MCAD tools (Creo/NX).
- Experience with sheet metal design for mid to high volumes, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast tooling.
