Senior Software Engineer Full Stack .NET / React, Cloud Native & AI (Payments / Banking)

About the opportunity

Our client builds secure, scalable payments and banking products on the cloud. They are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to work across the stack, from event-driven .NET services and AI-powered features to modern React front ends. AI coding tools are a core part of how the team delivers, and you will help shape how they are used safely in money and security paths.

What you'll do

• Own features end to end, from design and development through testing, release and production support
• Build distributed, event-driven back-end services and integrations with banking and third-party systems
• Build AI-powered features, including agents, multi-step workflows and RAG applications
• Deploy and run containerized services on Kubernetes
• Build CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
• Use AI coding tools to deliver faster while keeping quality and security high
• Review code, mentor other engineers and help grow the team

What you'll bring

• 7+ years of professional software engineering, delivering and supporting production systems
• Strong hands-on C# / .NET (ASP.NET Core) and React with TypeScript
• Experience in payments or banking technology, such as core banking APIs, payment rails, ledgers or reconciliation
• Expertise building distributed, event-driven applications
• Working proficiency in at least one other back-end language: Java, Python or Node.js
• Cloud-native microservices on Azure (preferred), AWS or Google Cloud Platform, using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm and Terraform
• Secure, observable applications with CI/CD, log aggregation, monitoring and alerting
• Agile delivery and Test-Driven Development
• Daily use of AI coding assistants and agents (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor), with the judgment to review and harden AI-generated code
• AI application development: LLM APIs (prompt engineering, structured outputs, tool calling), agents and multi-step workflows, RAG (embeddings, vector search), and evaluating AI quality, cost and safety

• Microservices design with Domain-Driven Design
• Target-state architecture for greenfield products and legacy modernization
• Designing for scalability, resilience and high availability
• ISO 20022, ACH/NACHA, wires, or core banking vendors (CSI, Fiserv, FIS, Jack Henry)
• Regulated environments (SOC 2, audit and security controls)
• Serverless development
• Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform developer, architect or AI certification
