Due to strategic expansion and the increasing importance of their mobile platform development, Our Client is seeking an experienced Principal Android Engineer. Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of high-quality native Android applications, ensuring scalability and robustness.
• Establish and promote best practices, code standards, and architectural guidelines across teams.
• Act as a technical authority, influencing product roadmaps and strategic technical decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to deliver user-centric solutions.
• Drive innovation by evaluating new technologies and frameworks, integrating them into the development process.
• Mentor and coach junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Oversee end-to-end testing processes, including automation and CI/CD pipelines, to ensure product quality.
• Lead complex projects from inception to deployment, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
• Influence organisational processes to improve team efficiency, engagement, and product delivery.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Over 10 years' experience in software development, with a minimum of 3 years focused on native Android development.
• Deep expertise in Android SDK, Java, Kotlin, and related development tools.
• Hands-on experience with modern architectural patterns such as MVVM or MVI.
• Proven track record of designing scalable, high-performance Android applications.
• Strong understanding of automated testing strategies across unit, integration, and UI levels.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and workflows, including systems like GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Experience working with cloud services such as Google Cloud and AWS.
• Knowledge of database management, web protocols, and API integration.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• Experience in iOS development, React Native, or cross-platform frameworks.
• Knowledge of device virtualisation and automated QA processes.
• Experience with GenAI tools such as Copilot or Claude Code.
• A keen eye for visual design and user experience.
