About the Role:
As a Principal Cloud FinOps Analyst- Eng, you will bring your expertise in Public Cloud Cost Governance to drive strategic financial accountability and optimization across our cloud environments. You will collaborate with an exceptional team of cloud engineers, product managers, data engineers, and functional leaders to capture immense value through cost transparency, forecasting, and governance best practices.
This role is pivotal in shaping long-term cloud financial strategies, ensuring efficient resource utilization, and enabling data-driven decision-making for senior leadership, all while embracing UKG's People First culture and commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
Governance & Leadership
Lead FinOps Governance and Rhythms of Business, including forecasting, budgeting, optimization tracking, and reporting.
Act as the Lead FinOps Practitioner for Cloud Engineering and Acceleration, driving enterprise FinOps governance and accountability.
Establish long-range plans and monthly forecasts for public cloud cost and usage.
Define and manage FinOps KPIs and Metrics, ensuring transparency and measurable success.
Optimization & Collaboration
Partner with leaders and engineering teams to improve processes and implement tooling for cost management.
Identify, track, and prioritize optimization opportunities across multiple cloud environments.
Educate teams on FinOps principles and best practices to foster a culture of financial accountability.
Reporting & Tooling
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for cloud cost, optimization progress, and risk tracking.
Coordinate implementation of cloud financial management tools and custom reporting solutions.
Summarize large datasets into actionable insights for senior executives.
Best Practices & Education
Drive process improvements for managing cloud costs and usage.
Facilitate knowledge sharing and training for engineering teams on cost optimization strategies.
Conduct periodic briefings and status updates for stakeholders, leaders and executives.
Budgeting & Finance Alignment
Manage cloud spend forecasts and communicate expected spend to finance for budgeting purposes.
Review chargebacks and allocations with Corporate and Finance teams.

Qualifications:
Experience: 8+ years in Cloud FinOps, Cloud Governance, or related financial operations roles.
Expertise: Strong understanding of public cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform, AWS and Azure) and FinOps principles.
Skills:
o Advanced financial modeling and forecasting.
o Proficiency in cost management tools and dashboards.
o Ability to translate technical concepts into business impacts for executive stakeholders.
Certifications: FinOps Certified Practitioner or Professional preferred.

The pay range for this position is $145,600 to $209,300. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and work location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible to participate in a performance-based bonus plan and to receive restricted stock unit awards as part of total compensation.
