Summary

The AV Engineer / ThunderCAT Specialist will support, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise audio/visual and collaboration environments, with a focus on ThunderCAT-supported systems and integrated conferencing capabilities. This role requires a strong technical foundation in network topology, collaboration technologies, and fully integrated audio and video systems used in high-visibility, mission-critical environments.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting Cisco Webex Room Kit technologies, enterprise A/V platforms, audio networking, control systems, and multimedia collaboration solutions. The engineer must be able to diagnose complex issues across infrastructure, network, endpoint, hardware, software, and application layers, identify root causes, and implement timely resolutions that minimize operational disruption.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise A/V and collaboration systems, including Cisco Webex Room Kit technologies.
  • Provide technical support for ThunderCAT appliances and related collaboration infrastructure.
  • Maintain fully integrated audio and video environments supporting conference rooms, executive briefing spaces, and enterprise collaboration services.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, audio, video, control system, and network connectivity issues.
  • Troubleshoot issues across multiple OSI layers, including Layer 1 physical connectivity, Layer 2 switching, Layer 3 routing, Layer 6 presentation, and Layer 7 application services.
  • Identify system breakpoints, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to restore service.
  • Support and configure enterprise A/V platforms, including Biamp/Tesira, Crestron, Aurora multimedia solutions, and Dante-enabled audio networking environments.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure, networking, telecommunications, endpoint support, and operations teams to resolve cross-functional technical issues.
  • Monitor system performance and support preventative maintenance activities to ensure reliable collaboration services.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, configurations, resolutions, and operational procedures.
  • Support high-priority meetings, executive events, and mission-critical collaboration sessions as needed.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance system reliability, performance, scalability, and user experience.

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of enterprise network topology and how A/V systems integrate with network infrastructure.
  • Extensive hands-on experience supporting and configuring Cisco Webex Room Kit collaboration technologies.
  • Strong experience with enterprise audio/visual systems and integrated conferencing environments.
  • Proficiency with Biamp/Tesira audio platforms.
  • Experience with Crestron control systems.
  • Experience with Aurora multimedia solutions.
  • Knowledge of Dante-enabled audio networking environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across hardware, software, network, endpoint, and application layers.
  • Experience diagnosing issues across OSI Layers 1, 2, 3, 6, and 7.
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-visibility, mission-critical operational environments.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting ThunderCAT appliances or similar enterprise collaboration monitoring and management platforms.
  • Experience supporting enterprise conference rooms, executive briefing centers, operations centers, or large-scale integrated collaboration environments.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications, endpoint support, and enterprise infrastructure operations.
  • Experience supporting federal, government, or highly regulated enterprise environments.
  • Experience developing or maintaining technical documentation, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
