Role Overview
The SAP FICO Business Analyst will be responsible for defining, designing, delivering, and supporting enterprise SAP solutions across Finance and Controlling functions. This role partners closely with business and IT stakeholders to ensure financial systems align with operational needs, best practices, and long-term enterprise strategy.
The ideal candidate brings deep SAP FICO expertise, strong business process knowledge, and the ability to translate complex requirements into scalable, high-quality solutions within an Agile delivery environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary Business Analyst for SAP FICO, supporting Finance and Controlling business processes
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional requirements
- Design and govern SAP solutions supporting:
- Financial Accounting (FI)
- Controlling (CO)
- Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable
- Treasury and Banking
- Fixed Assets
- Sales & Use Tax
- Royalty and cost allocation processes

- Distinguish between business needs and system capabilities, identifying gaps and designing solutions
- Produce business requirements documentation, functional specifications, process flows, and business cases
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure feasibility, alignment, and successful delivery
- Develop and execute test plans and test scenarios to validate solutions
- Support production issues and provide ongoing system optimization
- Maintain business process documentation and deliver end-user training as required
- Apply SAP Best Practices and Agile methodologies to improve time-to-value
- Promote platform governance, standards, and continuous improvement
Required Experience & Skills
- 7 10 years of experience as an SAP Business Analyst supporting Finance systems
- Strong hands-on SAP FICO experience, including:
- GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets
- Treasury and banking integrations
- Cost Center and Profit Center Accounting
- Product Costing and Profitability Analysis
- Internal Orders

- Experience with SAP S/4HANA (Public or Private Cloud preferred)
- Solid understanding of:
- Primary and secondary cost elements
- Activity-based costing
- CO actuals and allocations

- Experience supporting:
- Bank integrations (NACHA, BAI, EDI, check formats)
- Sales & use tax platforms (e.g., Sovos or similar)
- AP invoicing automation and expense management tools
- Electronic payment platforms (e.g., Paymetric / WorldPay or equivalent)
- Document management systems supporting finance processes

- Experience delivering projects in Agile environments
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced enterprise environments
Preferred Experience
- SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting / SAC experience
- SAP PRA exposure
- Winshuttle or similar SAP scripting tools
- Experience within industrial manufacturing environments
- Exposure to large-scale enterprise transformations or system migrations
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- CPA and/or MBA preferred
- SAP certifications strongly preferred
- Project Management certification a plus
