Job#: 3036006 Job Description: Overview: Halliburton has a contract with a client in the energy sector who is undergoing a data migration - legacy data spans decades and not all is digital data and lacking metadata. Some paper data that has been scanned and converted into PDFs. Full data discovery is part of their phase 1 of the project kicking off early July. Data will need to be normalized, cleaned, and metadata extracted - will be using AI tools that their Halliburton AI R&D team has created. Their R&D team is not project-focused so are unable to adapt the tools to the specific use cases of the client, so seeking a resource who can join ideally early-to-mid July and participate in the discovery phase with the client, then build out their customizations to their tools to align to the project needs.
- Internal Halliburton AI tools have already been developed to do metadata extraction classification, and in parallel they will be building pipelines to load data into the client's target environment (which is a relational database, believes it's SQL backed).
- All data transferred will be laid out as flat files.
- This role will be able to take the code they have and adapt the tool to their specific needs, run the models, validate the outputs.
- Project is split into 2 phases: 1st will be discovery and will start with their already digitized data as their "initial load". During phase 1 Halliburton will bring in their AI/ML team to help determine what they can extract, fully align on the capabilities.
- As they progress in the project, they will incorporate additional data sources.
- The build/adaptation of the tool will be phased to first build against their digitized data set and then scale to incorporate their other sources.
- This role will work cross-functionally - they will sit in on team scrums, will need to work with them for the business and engineering context, but with the AI team to understand their AI tools, evaluate the code base, etc.
- What they need is someone with experience in LLMs, NLP using Huggingface or similar models.
- Will need experience in computer vision models, OpenCV or similar, for OCR, image classification, or similar use cases and using scikit-image for image processing.
- Should have experience in Python, Pandas specifically.
- Do need some experience with PDF parsing or intelligent document parsing.
