Lead Backend Developer / Remote EST/CST No PST or MST

We are seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to help design, build, and scale the large-scale distributed systems supporting enterprise fulfillment platforms. This is a highly hands-on engineering role for an experienced backend developer who enjoys solving complex distributed-systems problems, building resilient cloud-native applications, and taking ownership of systems operating at enterprise scale.

This is a Node.js-first environment. Candidates must have substantial, recent, production-level experience developing backend systems with Node.js and TypeScript. Java experience is valuable, but Java-heavy backgrounds without meaningful Node.js experience will not be sufficient for this role.

• 8–10+ years of professional software engineering experience

• Strong and recent Node.js backend development experience

• Strong TypeScript development experience

• Experience designing and developing large-scale distributed backend systems

• Meaningful, recent hands-on Microsoft Azure experience

• Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs

• Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures

• Experience with asynchronous and event-driven architectures

• Strong understanding of distributed-systems concepts, including:
