Description:
Job Title: Facilities Engineering Project Manager

Location: Waterloo, Iowa 50704

Contract Duration: 12+ Months (with potential extension)

Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Facilities Engineering Project Manager to lead and execute engineering and project management activities supporting manufacturing facility improvements within Tractor Operations. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing facility-related projects that enhance infrastructure, production equipment, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute facilities and maintenance projects of moderate complexity across multiple disciplines
  • Manage the implementation of changes to manufacturing infrastructure, production equipment, and processes
  • Provide engineering design support for facility infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical, and structural systems
  • Oversee project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with internal teams and external contractors
  • Coordinate and review work performed by support staff and third-party vendors/contractors
  • Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis for facility systems and production equipment
  • Handle Hot Work Requests and Red Tag reviews in compliance with safety standards
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, building codes, and life safety regulations
  • Support and implement programs focused on EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety), injury prevention, and hazard mitigation
  • Lead initiatives involving Emergency Notification Systems (ENS), FM Global coordination, and IT/network-related facility projects
  • Work on non-mobile material handling equipment engineering, application, and installation
  • Identify and source qualified suppliers, negotiate services, and ensure cost-effective procurement for projects


Required Qualifications:

  • Project Management Experience in engineering or facilities-related environments
  • Cross-functional experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Supervision, and/or Maintenance Engineering
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience coordinating multiple trades and contractors
  • At least 3+ years of experience with building infrastructure systems (mechanical, electrical, structural)
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles within manufacturing operations
  • Familiarity with Emergency Notification Systems (ENS) (preferred)
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and compliance requirements


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with FM Global standards and insurance coordination
  • Exposure to IT/network infrastructure projects within manufacturing facilities
  • Background in material handling equipment systems
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting capability
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and middle management.
